I was dropping my gas tank and found that the quick connect that attaches to the pressure regulator was cracked so I need a new quick connect there and don't want to buy the whole line. What size quick connect do I need? I measured the od of the regulators outlet and it it's size it just about 3/8. I picked up a 3/8 quick connect and it didn't fit. Too small.
Too small, or just a lot tighter fit than the old one? I do believe they are indeed 3/8ths. Might try a bit of grease on the male part of the fitting, to help it go on.

It definitely didn't fit in general. The white piece that clicks into the quick connect to hold it on wouldn't even slide into the regulator. But I'll try it again before I return it. Maybe I was being too gentle. But I don't think the connection was long enough because even without the click collar it didn't go on far enough

When I put a fuel pump in my Impala, the plastic was rather iffy. Dorman makes an assortment kit so there are several sizes you can try. Too bad your pump isn't as easy as the Impala. 7 nuts holding a plate in the trunk area down and then you're at the pump.
Ok so I looked at it again and what I'm seeing is that the outlet on the fuel pump is 3/8 outer diameter. This 3/8 connector doesn't fit and feels like it's designed for 3/8 id tubing.
Ok so I figured it out. Orielys ****ed up. The put a 5/16 connection in a 3/8 box. I ended up going with an angled 3/8 connection part number 800-086 dorman
