Default fuel pressure regulator location.

i have a 2000 ram 1500 4X4 w 5.9l auto. 90K miles.
i just got a fuel pressure regulator trouble code today.
after a quick google search it says it's located on the fuel pump.....CORRECT?

the truck has always been a hard cold start since i bought it a few months ago. my original plan was to replace the pump in spring. if the FPR is located on the pump i might as well replace the pump now when dropping the tank for the regulator. or is a new regulator included with a pump?

Erm, what code did you get? I didn't think the older trucks PCM even cared about fuel pressure.....

i didn't scan it myself.
if i remember correctly, the person scanning said there was a open circuit to the fuel pressure regulator.

Pressure regulator has nothing electric, therefore there can't be an open circuit.
