P0740
Hi guys, its been a while, almost 3 years no issues but here i am again.
Threw a P0740 code last week, i have no shifting issues or problems going into OD, in fact it shifts wonderful since i re-geared it.
i cleared the code and it came back like 3 days later. Came on last week after going over a bump on a side road and today it came on right after it shifted into overdrive.
I'm stumped why this thing is angry and its shifting fine....ugh
fluid is nice and pink and full too...
where should i start.

turns out I was down a quart, I hate reading the dip stick I swear it was full a few weeks ago when I checked in neutral. Put some liquid gasket near the seal and filled it back up. See if it’s still pissed off

well I may have figured it out. Looks like I’ve been a leaking a tiny bit of tranny fluid near the torque converter.

right, and that sounds like one hell of a job. I need to check on my break to see if my patch job held. I didn’t see any leaks after being parked. Obviously it shifted nicer having that extra quart. Really just didn’t expect a seal to go out on a 5 year old transmission, piece of crap.
