It looks like its easy enough to return, so no biggie. I've had a mt2500 in mine, just thought I'd try to go low first. I will check into the Torque and see what its about. Thanks

I tried the free version of the Torque app and it was slick. My OBDll connector was wifi (which disabled my phones service). I bought a bluetooth one and plan on buying the Torque Pro app

So I think my intake gasket is leaking internally and causing my misfire issue. I read about a test where you disconnect and plug off the pcv, then hook a vacuum gauge to your dipstick tube. Normal reading should be 0-3, but I'm reading about 7-8. It the needle held steady at that. Does this type of test sound about right? I'm not getting gases into the radiator or coolant into the oil. I knew I should have just done the intake gaskets when I had the rest of the top of the motor apart.

Had something funny happen to day when I went to go back to work from lunch. I went to start it and it was like the battery was dead. Cranked it a couple more times and it finally fired up, but wouldn't stay running unless I kept my foot on the gas. Had to restart and repeat a few times before it would hold idle. Drove back to work, shut it off, and it fired right up. Started up fine after work too. I didn't touch a thing under the hood during any of it. I'm guessing something (sensor) is probably on its way out. The weak battery and slow crank thing seems like an odd symptom of that though. Just bad cable connection?

I don't know about that first test, never heard of it. But bad battery terminals caused all kinds of problems on my truck.

With PCV disabled, there should be pressure in the crank case. (and they don't recommend running it very long for the test.) If you still vacuum with PCV disable, then you gotta leak somewhere.

I'm gonna dig into the cables just to eliminate that as the issue. i've got one of the terminals that the cables butt into and you clamp them down. Honestly not a fan of it. It's been shut off and restarted half a dozen times since after work and still no issues. I guess it will eventually show itself if it gets bad enough.

Thanks for confirming the test. As much as i didnt wanna hear I'm gonna be tearing back into the motor, at least i feel like I'm getting somewhere with tracking this down. Curious why you arent supposed to run the test long.

Because if you are building pressure in the crank case, you run the risk of blowing out seals.

That makes sense. I thought about it later.

Btw, you can find paper towels at the auto parts stores, people.

I haven't figured out the tp problem yet. If something doesn't come through soon, I may have to use a dirty sock.
