1996 Cummins 2500 Frankenstein Build
I am back on the rig and trying to finish her up before Christmas.
Took a while but finally got all the bodywork and blocking done. I pulled the rear glass pulled in prep for the final paint.
The one issue I ran into was the hood was a bag of walnuts once we blocked it. I went to the pick a part to find a cleaner hood and scored…..The below Cervani fiberglass hood was on a 1995 1500. For $80.00 bucks it saved us a lot of time and coin.
Next my buddy Marc who owns a local Maaco (of you are in Riverside or North County San Diego check out his shop, his guys are solid).
I had the truck reshot with epoxy primer and shot with a Top Coat in Toyota’s cement gray…..
I’ll add some side shots later. Next step is doing the jams, and having the bedliner shot. For those out there has anyone used Bullet liner. My understanding it’s the same chemical as Line X.
Here’s a before and after.

Hopefully it will blend in better the Army’s old ACU pattern did, I always laugh at stealth sound though, the 5.9 Cummins always cracks my
neighbor up down the street. He says I sound like old tractor coming down the way.
Have to admit the Toyota Cement Gray is trendy, but I have always loved it. Reminds me of epoxy primer. Next step is taking her down to Alex’s LineX of Temecula, CA. His shop does a really good job and is super thorough. I was going to go Bullet liner (similar product), but I like Alex’s attention to detail.

Kinda pavement gray-ish. Is it going to be a stealth truck? Trying to blend in with the pavement?
