Question 97 ram questions (turn signal and key)

First up, turn signals. I replaced the bulbs and flasher fuses inside the cabin. The blinker on my dash works, the front blinkers work, but the rear passenger light won't blink. it comes on when i have the headlights on and press the brakes. any ideas? I'm stumped here.

second: I only have one key, how can I tell if I have a key with a chip? I know this is a stupid question.

key and 97 Ram pictures for attention.

Check the bulb on the side in question. Also check the ground.

No chip in your key.

Just for you're knowledge chip keys didn't come out until 06 (1500) or 07 (2500/3500). Also I think the ground is shared for the brake light and turn signal

Hmmm. Interesting on the key part. Bought a truck with only one key and an immobilizer so wondered about getting an extra key for it made up. Probably have to find a way to get another immobilizer FOB but would be nice to have a spare key around.

Not to piggyback off the topic but anyone every try replacing the ignition / door lock cylinders in their vehicle? Doors on my daily(98 1500 Sport) came off a 95 ram so I have a key to open the doors and a key to start it but I could try taking the ignition out of the other spare truck... should work fine?
