Default Adjustable Track Bar WITHOUT a bracket

Hello everyone. I have a 2001 1500 Sport that I just installed a RC 5" lift on a couple of days ago. The RC kit came with a track bar drop bracket, but I'd rather run a beefier adjustable track bar that doesn't require a bracket... something that just mounts to the existing track bar mounting locations... but adjustable. I've been searching the web but everything I come across is either for the 2500/3500s or requires a bracket of some sort. So does anyone know of a company that sells a direct replacement adjustable track bar without a mounting bracket?

Thanks in advance.

I'd guess nobody makes one because it's just plain wrong from a geometry perspective. The track bar should be close to level at normal ride height. If you use the stock mounting locations with a 5" lift the axle will shift side-to-side a lot more when going through the travel. Do yourself a favor and use the drop bracket.

Actually, track bar should be parallel with the drag link for little to zero bump steer.

I bought adjustable track bar back in the days, but it was some cheap, poor quality material which broke (snapped in half) on road use under the weight of Cummins. Also 2nd gen track bar has that stupid ball joint at the frame end, and there's no way you could run it with 5" lift w/o drop bracket. It's pretty much maxed out with 2,5" lift. You would need to convert to the 3rd gen track bar (which is the way to go anyway), which requires a bracket. And that would need to be drop bracket to retain parallel with the drag link.

Gotcha. I'm new to Rams but have been lifting Jeeps for quite some time now and have always used a longer adjustable track bar without the use of a drop bracket. Everytime I've used a drop bracket in the past I've had problems with it unless I welded it to the frame instead of just using bolts to secure it... that's why I'd rather stay away from using a drop bracket but its looking like I'm going to have to use it in this application.

What's all involved in a 3rd gen track bar swap? Thanks for the info.

Third gen bar swap is just a bracket, and the correct bar. (bushings on both ends.) For lifted trucks, it darn near a necessity. No ball joint to wear out. Welding the bracket isn't a bad idea either, as I doubt you will ever go back to the original style track bar.

Welp, looks like I'm upgrading the track bar but will have to use a bracket of some sort... will definitely be welding that bracket to the frame for more support. With that said, which brand do you guys recommend for track bars? I saw the Dodge Off Road track bar but its a little pricey (around $520)... are there other options that are a littler more wallet friendly but still of good quality?

Fair few folks make 3rd gen conversions for our trucks. Check out the various lift companies, they are quite likely to have 'em.

You have a few options. The cheapest being buying a 3rd gen bracket for a 2nd gen and then buying a 3rd gen adjustable track bar off eBay

I've been looking around online, but the only 3rd gen track bar brackets I'm seeing is for 2500/3500s... will those work with my 1500? Also, Synergy keeps popping up but they're all sold out and require the use of the Synergy track bar as well. Any brands you guys suggest?

I made my own asking with crossover steering (I have my own shop). The track bar for the 3rd gen will say 2500/3500 because the 3rd gen 1500s are IFS (no straight axle). Synergy says it will only work with theirs but I don't see how. I did see on eBay some conversion brackets
