Default Hesitation upon acceleration?

Hello all! My ‘96 RAM 5.9 360 hesitates prior to moving, has anyone else expected this issue? Basically, I shift to “D” and it sometimes won’t move, even if I press on the accelerator. It moves after I depress the accelerator, and press again. I’m thinking spark, or fuel injector issues. What would you guys think? Thank you!

Sounds transmission related.
Any codes?
Last time the bands were adjusted?
Do you still have the check valve in the transmission line?

surprisingly zero codes. I don’t think her bands have ever been adjusted. She currently has 186,282 miles. She shifts just fine.

It's the engagement that could be an issue. I believe the front band controls engagement to.

I’m thinking of adjusting her bands this week, it’s a little scary, but as they say “no guts, no glory” would I have to drop her transmission to adjust the bands? Thank you!

Nope just the pan as the rear band adjustment is in their. It's a good time to change the filter. Don't go off of the turns in the FSM they are wrong.

Of course. I’m going to change the filter, fluid, and spring while I’m at it. I was actually going to base my adjustment from a YouTube video lol.

I’d certainly appreciate that, thank you. I was told 72 inch pounds.

Yep, tighten to 72 INCH pounds, then back 'em off two turns each. Or, back 'em off enough to give a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap.

So, does the engine rev, and the truck just doesn't move?
