Default 99 ram 1500 318 won't start.

I picked this truck up a few weeks ago it was supposed to be an upgrade from my 89 d100 but now it doesn't even run. It ran and drove great when I first got it but then out of the blue it fell flat on it's face. Towed it home and realised I wasn't getting any spark so i plugged my scan tool in and told me my cam sensor was bad so I replaced the cam sensor/distributor pickup coil and my cap and rotor. Finally have spark, but for some reason it still won't start even on ether. This truck only has 57000 on it and it was never abused. only used to pull the boat every couple weeks. Any help is appreciated thank you all in advance - steve

What brand sensor? If you are getting spark at the plugs, fuel, and air. It will run. Did you verify you are getting fuel?

I can hear the pump kick on and my injectors are getting power. I even put some gas down the throttle body and it still wouldn't fire. Just got done going back over the timing and its all correct
Also unsure on brand of sensor we picked it up from one of the local part stores.

Well my scanner popped up with another cam sensor code So I'm gonna go back to the parts store and get another one in the morning. Hopefully that's all it is.

The problem is these trucks only like genuine Mopar sensors in the critical areas. So that sensor could still be your problem

If you are getting spark the cam sensor is working. Did you clear the fault code before putting it in? If not it's the same one.

Crank sensor controls spark. Cam sensor controls injector timing. If it won't fire even on ether, then he likely isn't getting spark to the plugs.

Are you getting tach rpm when you crank? If you don't the crank sensor is pouched.

I did clear my code after replacing sensor, i cleared it again just to be safe and it hasn't come back yet. I'm getting spark on all the plugs, and my rpms are all over the place when I crank the engine over

Crank sensor controls spark. Cam sensor controls injector timing.
You need both or you will have no spark! The cam sensor tells the pcm where the engine is IE #1 cylinder etc... Have you tried to pull out some of the plugs after you try to start it? Are they wet with fuel? Have you tried giving it some throttle when cranking?
