Where to find Wheel Hub Bolts. 1998 Dodge Ram 1500
Hello,
I am trying to replace the wheel hub bolts on my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. It is the 5.2L 4WD variant.
I cannot seem to find these bolts available anywhere. I contacted Doorman and they replied that they do not make a bolt for this truck. All other autosites do not seem to carry bolts for this truck either. Oreilly carries a wheel hub bolt tray, I thought about buying it to root through and see what might fit.
Many sites have bolts that fit the 1998 2500 Ram 1500, will they also fit the 1500?
I was curious if anyone has purchased new bolts for their wheel hubs and how they got them. eBay has bolts available, but they are all expensive, and by no means "new". I don't usually mind used parts but these 12 point bolts seem like they didn't last well, and I can't imagine any junkyard ones fairing any better.
I was thinking it might be easier to find the thread size, length, and diameter and use a different bolt, as I am not the biggest fan of the 12 point heads on these bolts anyway.
Thank you for your patience in reading through my long rant. I am new to this site and hope you can help. Thanks!

NAPA claims to have them but the picture is the same as Dorman has for their -97 bolts (917-510). It appears the only difference is that pre 98 has a hex head and later has the 12 pt. They are pricey though, $50 for a set. Ouch.
Edit: The Chrysler part is 04746775. 2500 uses a different one.

If the bolts are the same except for the head for 2nd gens 97 and older, I would be happy to hear that. I much prefer the hex head to the 12 pt.

Reason: typo
!2 points are better because the force (socket to bolt contact points) are spread out more than on a hex head bolt. Less likely to break the socket or strip the head on the bolt. Have you contacted the dealer just to see what they want for them? Do a googe search for the oem # and see what comes up. Might look on craigs list for trucks being junked/parted out.
The bolts in the photos look pretty decent to me, if these are the actual bolts you have. I'm sure they could be easily restored with a mild bead blasting.
If not, I'd pick some up from a pick and pay style junkyard. No way I'd pay those dealer prices for those bolts...

The bolts pictured are just pulled from eBay, mine are in much worse condition.
Sorry, I missed the caption about the bolts pictured being eBay bolts. What part of the US are you in? You should be able to find a decent set of those bolts at a salvage yard.
