You need a custom tune. Talk to Hemifever, or Flyin' Ryan about a tun for your truck. They both have their own websites, see what they have to say.

do you think I tune will also help with how hot your transmission temp gets ? Seems to be my biggest concern when climbing the hills aswell.

Nope. Likely won't make any difference at all. Think I would be looking at an external filter, and BIG cooler. (external filter adds fluid capacity, which will help keep it cool as well.)

Just plumb it into the line like the cooler. There are even pre-made kits for just such an exercise.

If you trans is getting hot, even with that cooler, think I would be looking for other causes as well. Do you know if the check valve in the trans cooler line has been removed?

Where would I find a pre made kit? I figured my extra deep pan and the upgraded tranny cooler would be enough extra fluid lol. Where exactly is the check valve ?? I installed the cooler myself just literally removed the stock cooler and used there lines. I dunno what "hot" is considered but when I was pulling the camper and fully loaded going up the hill there was some points where it reached about 205 F then it cools down after get to level driving

I believe Monte C (in his thread) said anything below 230-240 is good. The check valve is in the bottom line. Also just search "external transmission filter kit" and you'll find them. They won't say specifically 46RE (most will say 48RE) because that is what came behind the Cummins and most Cummins owners do the external filter.

Ok good yah I haven't been close to 240 yet and even if I did I would pull over somewhere to cool off but maybe a bigger cooler down the road would help this is the tru cool one I have now
