The second is usually better at cooling. Search for the types, you'll figure out quick what the deal is and which one you have.

Good luck!
So do I need to remove the valve cut it off ??? I have aftermarket cooler already it's a stacked plate one.

You can just drill it out, and be done with it. (take the line off for that exercise, and clean it out good as well.) Or, replace it with a length of line, and some hose clamps.....

I may just drill it out if possible I just replaced the line not to long ago and would like to use it still. So what was the point of this check valve then?

You can drill it out or cut it off and use barb fittings

Prevents converter drainback, supposedly. The only downside to not having it is, if the truck sits for a day, it takes an extra few seconds for the trans to actually move the truck, once you put it in gear. On mine, I usually get in, put on my seatbelt, start the truck, put it in reverse, and light my cigarette, at which point, its ready to go.

If your trans is running hot, you already have a problem. Deal with it now, while its cheap.

Fair enough. What a dumb design if it affects the transmission heating up.
