Yes, the check value is in that fitting. Get the tools to remove it and check it out.... likely its clean as a whistle. I've pulled a bunch in the jyard just for grins to see if I found any that had sludge or clogged... not a one. There are two different types of coolers. Tube and fin, and stacked plate. The second is usually better at cooling. Search for the types, you'll figure out quick what the deal is and which one you have.
Good luck!
So do I need to remove the valve cut it off ??? I have aftermarket cooler already it's a stacked plate one.
You can just drill it out, and be done with it. (take the line off for that exercise, and clean it out good as well.) Or, replace it with a length of line, and some hose clamps.....

I may just drill it out if possible I just replaced the line not to long ago and would like to use it still. So what was the point of this check valve then?

Prevents converter drainback, supposedly. The only downside to not having it is, if the truck sits for a day, it takes an extra few seconds for the trans to actually move the truck, once you put it in gear. On mine, I usually get in, put on my seatbelt, start the truck, put it in reverse, and light my cigarette, at which point, its ready to go.

Hmm intresting. Maybe I should just leave until I notice a serious problem
