Default Truck died

Got a 97 ram 1500 with the 5.2

today I was driving to the store and it just cut out then sputtered then acted like I ran out of gas. My model does not have the Schroeder valve to check pressure easily.

if I out my ear to the gas tank I can hear the pump prime when my wife turns the key...

obviously I’ll go get a fuel pressure test kit soon but until I can get a ride to the parts store does anyone have any suggestions?

the motor tries to turn over but acts like it has no gas in the tank

any tips on how to do this with minimal tools? I had it towed to my father in laws house who isn’t here for a couple days so I can’t go anywhere to get any tools other than what’s in my toolbox.

nevermind I went to pull the plug to test spark from a tutorial in this site and realized the bracket holding my MSD can snapped and the positive wire came disconnected (previous owner installed this)

plugged it back in and voila.

First off, DO you have fuel in the tank? You can check the spark by pulling a plug ire off and hold it near a ground as you crank the engine over.

Look at his last post. His coil bracket decided not to do it's just any more, and when the coil fell, it pulled a wire.
