Ok Guys,

Got the new TPS Delphi sensor in and problem reoccured after truck got warm and while towing boat. It only seems to be while there is a load on the truck and tranny. Also noticed that fuel mileage dropped from 16 mpg to 6 mpg. So not sure if tranny is slipping or is fuel system crapping. What do you all think? As it gets warm and the load gets heavy it appears.

I know not using Mopar sensors can lead to issues

WAG based on the symptoms: On a 96 the gauge cluster and the PCM use each their own temperature sensor. If the PCM temp sensor reads stone cold the PCM will run the engine really rich. Do you have an OBD reader with live data ? If so check what the PCM thinks the coolant temp is.

Ok, so I pulled the connector on the front O2 sensor that is screwed into the cat under the passenger side"I believe upstream". Truck ran better and on a long haul of my boat did not throw CEL and did not start the hesitate or stuttering. My question is, How many O2 sensors are there. I know of the two on the passenger side upstream and downstream. are there more than that? Looking at RockAuto there seems to be a right bank and left bank. Upon further looking there seems to be ENG'iNE and CAT O2 sensors....I hope I pulled the right one, I guess I did since the truck ran better...

If you have federal emissions you only have 2 if you have California Emissions you have 4. I know the only recommend sensors for O2 is Denso or NTK
