Default 37s

Has anyone put 37s on a 2nd gen with 3.55 gears of I really have to I’ll put 4.88s in to get more low end I do lots of off-roading no rock bouncing just sand and swamp my tranny is getting upgraded so that will be fine I’m going to probably put on headers and better exhaust down the road but not building a power house anytime soon engine only has 120k on it so I could put some top end performance and not worry about bottom end cause it’s still a young 5.2l so people with 37s chime in even if you have re geared I wanna know how it is but also I wanna know how it is with 3.55s most importantly

You really want to re-gear for 37's. I think 4.88 is as high as you can go on a 1500...... The 3.55's would make life really tough on your trans with the large tires..... Gonna need some lift, or, some body carving to fit 'em as well.

i got 8 inches of lift so no trimming right I’d hate to mess with the fenders I like how they look and the guy I got it from took fender liners out so I guess it has a bit more clearance idk

Still gets to 4th. Harder to accelerate but it's not that bad in my opinion. Just be warned the 1500 shoes have a max tire size of 35s before you start bending C's and breaking axles

so I’m guessing I should beef up the 44 a bit and the 9.25 should be fine it’s basically a d60 right

No both axles are weak. I only have those access because I had to find the factory 2500 axles. The time you spent beefing up the 44 and 9.25 you are better off swapping in Dana 60s. The 9.25 is very weak compared to the 44 as it's a c clip axle.

Front yes the back you have to weld your spring perches off of the 9.25 onto the 2500 axles
