Default Is airgap worth the money?

I recently reached out to flying Ryan to see if I could get a tune made up. I gave him the info on my truck and he saying with my mildly built motor. I can't get a canned tune and I would require a custom tune. So he's saying I should atleast get some sort of intake work done before we went forward. Are these airgaps worth the money ? Keep in mind I'm paying in canadian funds and will cost couple hundred more then usd. I really wanted to see what his tune would do to my truck hoping to "wake it up" . Or is the couple extra grand not really worth it. I've already put in 8 grand into this truck as is let alone the purchase price. Could of got a nice diesel haha only wish it was a 3/4 ton atleast and I could justify sinking more in...
Who has the air gap? Do you like it?

Cheers!

When I gasser swapped my diesel I got the AirGap. Being a manual (driving gasser autos) I think it made it more fun to drive. Not to mention I got piece of mine that my Plenum will go. I know it makes a little bigger difference in an automatic as the torque builds as the rpms go up. I would buy another and plan to

What's the numbers on your engine making?

Cool cool. No big number for sure! Haha just a mild built motor ill see if I can find the parts list. I didn't do it myself hired a guy out of town here.

also has afe air intake. Helix Tb spacer. Magnaflow muffler and the cat is deleted. One day headers but I think the intake may be a good idea down the road. Is it tricky to install?

No tips, it's pretty straight forward. I don't remember having any problems. Without a dyno (which I plan to do) don't really know if there are gains. Now according to my butt dyno yes I would say I gained some hp, I don't think I gained any torque.

That cam is designed for idle to 4800 RPM, a range the kegger is really good at. The airgap actually produces LESS power/torque below 4000 RPM than the stock kegger..... With your combo, I don't think spending that kind of money to get LESS power is such a good idea...... I could see doing the kegger mod though.... Unshrouding the runners inside the manifold will get you a few more ponies, though, it also tends to move the power band up a couple hundred RPM.....

Of course, the dyno test I am looking at for those results (on Hughes website.....) were on a stock tune, stock motor. With a custom tune, it *might* be better, bang for the buck? I don't think its there.

That's interesting. I didn't really want to mess with keg anyways. And save me money and headaches. I don't know why FRP suggested that then. I sent him same build list as I just did now. What else can I do to get a little more power? He does t want to sell me a canned tune with the mild build I have.
maybe I'll get some shorty headers next.

IF your truck is 97 or older, shorties, and a better y-pipe/cat would be rather helpful. Biggest restriction on those is where the two pipes go into the cat.

Shorties will still help. Muffler really doesn't make any difference at all, unless it is REALLY restrictive. (which most aren't.) Muffler is all about the sound.
