00 engine runnig rough, brake lights on press brake she shuts down
so i found 2 by the washing tank
1. was from the battery goes to the top of the frame
then 2 fires 1 black and 1 purple black wire to the groun frame.. i cleaned it up
i re cleaned the 3 wires by fthe computer ground paint off frame and cleaned wire terminals.. cleaned the computers terminal and computer shinned it up.. cleaned up the main wire to the frame to the engine..
i didnt clean up the eends as i cant reach where the wires care going to the engine...
in the end still nothing the electric brake module still states the brakes are on.. and when you pull the mulifunction module out truck dies.. and i cant restart it unless i plug it back in

so i pulled out the damn mulifunction switch...
i used a light probe.. and tried to simulator whatever it is to get the fuel pump to hump or thud i hear
non cause it.. plug the mulitunctiion switch in and i hear the thud when shuts off
i did notice when i use the light prob.. been using the Ground from inside the frame
but probing pint 12 right turn signal.. and pin 15 left turn signal.. they both make the probe light come on then shut off.. but doesnt do it for the other 2 turn signals
nore the other pins.. but id have to re test again..
but shouldnt hose lights stay on wti the light probe as it simulates a the left right turn signal switch
so i frustrated

so i getting frustrated for sure..
i took the wipers off and unhooked the wiper motor
i pulled the 2 front turn signal bulbs.. why they made it so hard for the driver side i dunno..
still no luck multifunction switch needs to be pluggged in and rear bulbs need to be plugged in.. and if you unplug either bulb truck will shut off... i going mad
i dont know how this is possible unless a certain wire melted and joint with another but where i getting annoyed

You need to remove the bulbs and the multiswitch. Neither have anything to do with ignition or fuel. As said you need to check the grounds! NOT just clean the connection points. Use different points as a ground(engine frame bolt etc) and check voltage from the battery(you will have use some wire to extend the leads on your meter). It should read the same as if you had the two leads of your meter on each terminal of the battery. If it's lower then there is resistance(bad ground). I would check the grounds on the rear lights and see what you have there. Also i believe there is a ground(connection to body) on one of the steering column bolts. You may have more then one issue causing all of this. From what i gather the lights/multifunction switch is supplying a ground because there is an issue with the one or more of the grounds it's supposed to have.
reason i took the wiper motor out and took the bulbs out was i figured maybe one of them is causing a short i dunno i just guessing at this point..
reason i cleaned the grounds is.. to make sure i had good ground contacts to the frame to eliminate and say that connection wasnt making a good ground..
i
i just trying to see things....
but ill try that tommorow
the mulifunction switch has a ground wire its number 21 pin and thats where i noticed the turn signals seem to come on then go off at the switch.. but ill check the rear lights and see the voltage
thanks for the input so far
and guess if i cant find i have to pull the wirelooms a part and look for bad wire.
could there be bad contact in the fuse panel under the hoood? where the wires go in.. i dunno i just guessing now

so what i tested
multier meter off the battery
2 ground connectors by the washer fluid tank
1 ground wire to the engine by the wiper motor
3 ground wires one goes to the computer..
mulitunction switch ground
fuel pump ground
2 rear tail lights ground
frame insides the truck
i got 12.20 volts with the key on
i got 12.30 volts with the key off at all grounds
i didnt see one by the steering column bolts..
now i didnt test yet when the mulitfunction switch is plugged in

oh and the multimeter for the just the battery was the same
i tried to simuate with test light how the mulitfunction switch makes the truck....
but havent found.. since the grounds seem to show no resistance .. well it realy doesnt
as it shows 12volts.. but doesnt show current it can handle.. if a wire is partially working it still would show 12 volts. but not have the amperage
so i guess i gotta try to pull all the wireloom off from the mulfunction switch and trace back? does it go straight to fuese panel.. i was thinking maybe under the fues panel there is a short...
once i fix this i soooo learning to drink.. i dont drink now.. but i may after this truck is working

if i pull the Mulitfunction switch out shuts off while running .. or if i dont have switch in she wont start, or if mulitunction switch in i remove the 1 of the 2 Rear Tailight bulbs where Turn Signal and PArking light come on it will shut off
i did notice when i did the multi meter to ground and to the 2 of the 4 Turn Signal wires the light prob came on for a couple seconds then shut off.. yet they shouldnt come on or maybe they do but because the switch is not activated.. or maybe the 4 Turn signal wires shouldnt have power at all unless 12 volt is added to them.
i was going to try unhooking the connector at the driver fender front one.. and jumper the Fuel Pump Pos and Negative i didnt find that in the FSM manual yet since i seen soo many connectors i probably bypassed it
so was going to test if i unplug that section of the wire harness that can eliminate something going bad in that section
or was thinking in fuse panel incase something melted or came off under the fuses
and if i have mulifunction switch in or out i still get 12 volts to teh pump but if its not in the multifunction switch i cant hear the pump but when i put the switch in and turn key i can hear the pump
