Default What was this bolt/stu for, can it be replaced?


This nut was literally hanging by the last threads, I tightened it to what I thought was 50ft lbs, and tit snapped. It looks to be a stud. It had a double nut. Can I replace the stud? What was it for, am I screwed? Thank you!”.

I think that is a bolt and nut for the coil bracket

I agree, but what’s REALLY strange is that this looks to be a stud with double nuts, while the others on other magnums seem to be bolts.

If it is still holding the coil in place, just leave it. Probably something that got put in the wrong place with some other work going on.

I figured it out. Since the engine was originally for a ‘98 Durango, this was a ground hence the double nuts. The bottom mount also has two nuts.

Glad you got it figured out? FYI I think the torque is 50 inlbs not ftlbs :b

No, see my mistake was thinking that this stud was the pulley mount bolt, which is 50ft lbs.I checked it twice.
