Back firing on idle and and decel

Default Back firing on idle and and decel

So i have a 98 ram with the 318, im having some issue and cannot figure it out.
On idle and start up and while on decel the truck backfires like crazy, i have an idea and that being the sprak plugs or injectors. Any ideas? Thanks

Inspect the cap/rotor plugs and wires would be a good start.

Thats what a friend of mine told me as well not too long ago, i have new rotor, cap and plugs. Going to try later tonight

Nope. Don't use those. Standard copper plugs only. Otherwise, you cause more issues than you are trying to solve. These engines simply do not like the rare-earth plugs.

i changed plugs, rotor and dizzy cap and when i was driving er it lost all power and died and now wont start. Think the plugs could cause this?

Possible, but, not likely.

Does it just crank, and not fire?
