Off Roading. This way when I get my tires up against an obstacle it will actually push the truck away from the obstacle.

I like the way you think I will chime in when I get it what my impressions are of it. According to their website it won't work with the 4th gen steering but we shall see.

 

They must be referring to the length of the drag link off the pitman arm. Since the box is larger and mounts further away from the frame rail, the drag link will need to be shortened. I'm assuming that's why it doesn't fit the Y steering.

 

you could just reclock the pitman arm but I'll get it to work. If I have to I'll cut the drag link and weld it to make it shorter

 

Isn't there a notch or keyway that only allows the arm at the original location? I'd be wary of "clocking" it off to one side. The link could bind. Shortening the link rod is the best option.

 

I know on my box (unsure if original) there are 4 notches it can go into. I can't get mine off but I was going to test it on my box because with the 4th gen steering the drag link is to long.

 

So I have a question for you guys that's been bugging me. When I removed the track bar a month ago, it dropped right out of the frame easily. After rebuilding it, I kept it the same length but it was now too long. The truck had "settled" over to the passenger side. But to the eye, and I have a good eye, it was and still is perfectly centered. I was able to easily move the body back into in line so the bolt went it. Should I have adjusted the bar longer? Was the truck settling into its natural stance? I gotta say it looked more crooked until I reinstalled the bar. But something still feels off when turning and I don't know what it is. Something like that bothers me constantly.

 

The truck can move a fair bit side to side when the track bar isn't connected. I had to shove mine over when I changed out a stock track bar, for a new stock track bar. Best bet is to get a measurement from the same point on both sides, see if they match. (close is good enough. )

 

I agree with HeyYou. I built a track bar for a buddy, track bar was out for about 6 days and somehow the axle moved about 4.5 inches. And the truck did lean. Driver side was lower then passenger side (which is common)
