Whoa! Hi! I've been stalking this form for over 6 months and wasn't sure if any of the serious people were still here. Finally joined last night. Very few people like the OP of this thread putting in the work to document and logically track down problems. But thank you for your input. I was talking to someone else on FB who has a 1500, did the T swap and did not like the tie rod roll dead spot. I'm considering pulling some salvage parts from the U pull it that way I can try both without breaking an arm and a leg. It's a farm truck, all stock and I just need to make sure I don't kill anyone with a ton of feed in the back.

Personally, I liked the Y steering better..... My 96 truck, I would find myself driving it like my Firebird....... then I would remember I am driving a 3 ton truck. And would dial back the enthusiasm.

If his was as loose as mine was, I can see why. It was down right dangerous, especially when towing a trailer. Like you could be a 1/4-1/2 into the other lane before getting good feedback and response to correct the wandering. Blind county road hills were nerve frying.
