Okay, thanks. It's been bugging me that maybe all these years it was off an inch and that was the cause for all my troubles.

Second thing is, I'm real close to ordering a new steering gear. Thinking Lares out of Minnesota from rockauto.

Blue top is back ordered and redhead can suck it. Other option is Napa reman but I that would be just to save money.

I'm planning another road trip to MN and possibly down to NM and back. Road trips are fun but not when I have to fight steering the whole way. The redhead is bad so if the brace stops helping, it would be a struggle.

Update:
Still getting the swish swoosh sound every time I turn the wheel. Did more "bleeding" after rotating the tires and I don't see any more bubbles or hear air sucking in when bleeding. But driving around it definitely makes a lot of noise.
That's it. I'm done with the Redhead gear. It sucks and always has. Oddly enough, the return of the wheel is the best it's been in a long time. Just noisy.
So I'll probably order a new Lares from rockauto pretty soon.

Hmmmm......
Bluetop now has 15:1 in stock for $310:
https://bluetopsteeringgears-com.3dc...-151_p_64.html

And new Lares at Rockauto is $330:
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...t=7416&jsn=454

Which one to get . . . . either way, I'm not expecting anything except a lighter wallet. I've fought this crap way too long and am completely burnt out. I hate the idea of spending another dime on this crappy steering. I will be reallllllllly surprised if it actually improves or works properly. I guess that's my biggest hesitation, not the price.

Oh, never mind. Bluetop's owner used to work for Redhead, apparently. I want nothing to do with that company, even an ex-employee. His gears will be just as bad. Here's a blurb from the website:In 2011, Ryan (Myron's son), purchased the business. During that time Ryan re-established the business in Stanton, North Dakota. He reorganized and started pushing the business area across the United States. Ryan's experience re-manufacturing steering gears with another large company in Seattle, Washington helped him with the understanding of many different types of steering components and the re-manufacturing process. With the new location, better facilities, and a lot of years ahead, he pushed harder expanding sales from coast to coast. By this time Ryan had updated most of the equipment and had purchased more machining equipment to be able to keep all work in-house. In 2017 Blue-Top Steering expanded into re-manufacturing steering valves and steering cylinders to add to the service abilities. Since 2017 the business has grown every month as more people look to have a quality product installed on their vehicle to keep them steering straight down the road.

Didn't realize they were in Stanton. Only an hour from me and not a very large community, population 400.

I only got as far as mounting the PSC box and connecting the steering column. I have to cut my tie rods by an inch and a quarter then reweld it.

Using T or Y steering? Doesn't it say it only works with T kit?
