In all reality, for all it's flaws, I like the Y steering on my 96 better. Once the track bar, and steering box adjustments were addressed, it drove really nice, with only a little slop. (worn parts in the steering box..... didn't wanna spend the money on replacement.)

Yeah, I'm kinda thinking of going back to it. After all, my truck drove perfect for the first 65k. While more stable and solid, the T definitely has a major flaw and it's annoying.

I just ordered crossover steering for $450 (which is cheaper then I can make it). So I won't have any of the issues. I still have to try to adjust my steering box (never did that as was always told that's a no no) and install a better track bar. But it steers ok for me just wonders and I'm always fighting the crown of the road.

Link to what you ordered??

I have looked at the true cross-over steering system, but, my major questions is: How are the different lengths of the drag link, and the track bar, going to interact, and is that going to be a problem?

I remember people complaining years ago about Xover steering being great for off-road but bad for on-road. The heims were a cause of argument but I don't know. And they tend to be very expensive.

Anybody know if I can re-use my Moog connecting sleeves on another brand (Ac delco)? I don't want to buy all new ones if I don't have to. The Moog is typically thicker parts, right? Or are all T parts the same diameter? The T setup is much thicker than my stock Y parts....

I wouldn't expect them to be the same thread pitch either....... Likely gonna need new ones. Can always just buy them, use them if you have to, return them if you don't.

So I'm leaning towards T again for ease of aligning and for the solid tracking. But rockauto doesn't have a complete set up of either AC Delco or Delphi. I like Delphi because you can see the pictures and both ends come with the flat bushings to prevent rollover but they don't list the short end at pitman arm. AC Delco doesn't show pictures for the long tie rod between the wheels. I really wish they would consolidate the options or have a diagram. Too much guess work. I'm gonna have to figure out if I can just replace the crossover ends only. Don't think my drag link ends are worn out. More to diagnose yet. . .

Sure, but I don't want to pay twice or thrice the price.
