Or a tune that takes it into account...... Stick with stock timing. It makes tuning it MUCH easier.

Comp cam #20-604-9
that's what they recommended with level 1 ported EQ heads. Have the HV water pump, heavy duty fan clutch, Accel ignition system, 8.2mm high temp plugs, dropped the oil pump and screen today, replacing with HV should be in today. No sludge in this block on the top or the bottom. Just hope i get the rear main seal rite and the oil pan doesnt leak either. Have to get a harmonic balancer puller. Putting a double comp cam timing chain on it. I know i need hardened push rods but will the stock length be optimal considering the upgraded springs on the heads and better rocker arms I'm going to buy?

For those that aren't aware, EQs are no longer "EQ" heads. The performance version everybody is thinking of is no longer available. Only EQs available now are stock replacements. Hughes even mentions this in the link shared earlier. The Indy heads were cast by EQ as well and being that they're no longer produced, the Indy's aren't either.

Also, injectors are a waste below 350 at the tire which you won't be anywhere near. Hughes is trying to make a buck. Stock are more than you need

They may port em or have Hughes port em or whatever but they're still a stock casting, even have freeze plugs in the ends

If they are not available they are still listed on their web site. Here also.

They may be listed but when was the last time those sites were updated? Hughes and Hipotek have both de-listed them

Edit: if you follow the IMM engines link and press HOME, that page completely disappears and is replaced with an LA aluminum import head page

Well they still have the Indy and RHS logos on the home page. RHS made the "X' heads before Indy started to sell them. ???
