So I should replace the converter and not just flush it?
It is 14 years old according to the date. The truck will rarely get out past my surrounding counties. But I don't want to have to R&R it in a few years either. Again, TY for your priceless input.

If you are rebuilding the trans, replace the converter as well. There is zero chance of flushing all the crap out of it. All you would end up doing is reintroducing it to your freshly rebuilt trans, and shortening its life.

Okay due to shipping issues it appears that I'm going to be a while getting what I need for the rebuild so I'm considering putting a salvage transmission into the truck until I get all my necessary parts and equipment set up however all I can find that would even remotely come close to my vehicle the 94 Dodge second generation is a 1996 models I have found four of them two wheel drive a couple of them with 318s a couple of them with the 5.8... will the 96 model transmission go in the place of the 94 model....

Nope. in 96, the RH disappeared, and became the RE, electronically controlled. Your PCM wouldn't know what to do with it.......

Okay thank you very much I'm sorry I sent that reply twice that was an accident but I cannot find a 1994 so guess I'm going to have to get out here in the country for they don't crush their salvage cars so often....I appreciate you to no end... Another comment I have yet to even find a 1995 model of anything Dodge Ram

94 or 95 will work fine. If your truck is 2wd, trans out of a van will work as well. (same years) I don't know what else used the same trans, but, quite likely there are other potential donors as well.

As usual invaluable information that will help me refine my searches greatly. I live in a rural area so I know some of these old country scrap yards has just got one sitting there with my name on it. That I can use of course while I rebuild this one. Again thank you!
