I've replaced all the vacuum lines, added vacuum reservoirs and replaced the vacuum solenoid. The cruise light comes on in the cab but I still have no cruise control. The only thing I haven't replaced yet are the switches. Any ideas?
The switches rarely fail. All they do is modify a signal from the PCM. Have you checked the cruise servo? It hides under the battery tray, and is frequently a victim of its location.

Yes I replied the servo, I mistakenly called it a solenoid.
Need to test the switches then. Should be able to just unplug the connector for them, on the steering column, and test resistance as you press the assorted switches. Values for those should be in the service manual. (get one here.)
Well it turns out there was another vacuum line l was not aware of. It goes through the firewall into the cab on the passenger side. I hooked it up and the cruise works perfect now.
