I was just wondering if the parking rod in a 46 re on a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 sport with the 5.9 gas would stop the truck from move ingredients and not going in to gear I just had a transmission ssd's hop put it in and didn't get 4 miles down the road and it stopped moving

If the parking pawl is engaged, the truck isn't going to want to move....

I was driving it and it just quit going forward and I had to back up in reverse to get to a safe location and it goes fine in reverse but I had it towed home and pulled the transmission out and went ahead and pulled the valve housing out and seen that the parking rod was undone and there was an e clip in the pan

If you had a trans shop repair/replace the trans, you should have taken it back to them to fix it......

I did and he refused to do it so I reported him to the better business bureau for not doing the job right. but I got it back in place and hooked back up to the valve body now just have to put it tighten the bands and put it back in and hope it works if not I'm going to be rebuilding a couple of them I guess
