1997 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab Laramie SLT
I'm a 2nd gen fanatic, it will forever be my favorite truck, but for the life of me I can't find out who made this overhead console, I've been in hundreds of 2nd gens and never seen one like it, I've completely removed it and searched it top and bottom for some sort of identification, hours of internet research turned up nothing and to be honest I just want to know it's history. The black plastic pieces are LED mood lights that run off a toggle switch, kind of like what you see in a limousine, a previous owner crudely cut a hole in the console and stuffed a volt meter there which i intend to remove and fix the eye sore with a small toggle panel. Any help or leads on this thing would be much appreciated, it appears to perfectly match the texture and color of the lower dash plastic covers, so I assumed it would lean more towards factory rather than someone making it themselves.

We have parts books for various year trucks in the FAQ/DIY section here. Might browse through the appropriate year, and see if anything presents itself.

That was made by an Aftermarket company and installed by either you or the dealer. The company's name was Overhead Solutions or something similar. Not much information on them.

Im sure like above it was made aftermarket, maybe the truck started life as a conversion and over the years the rest of the conversion has disappeared. Cheap katskin seat covers, wood panels extra lights and features power sliding rear windows all dead give aways. I had a MarkIII Dakota not sure if they did full size trucks, Ive seen some Centurion conversions and there was another one like DLC or something had nice aftermarket vynil graphics and or paint jobs.
