Default Sold 2000 Ram 3500 V-10

I finally decided to sell my 20 yr old truck. It had 93k original miles. Had problems with the brake system. Replaced all the rusted steel lines, bleed flushed the system many times. I nor the shop could get the ABS brake control system to work. We cycled the ABS 3 or 4 times. It would work for awhile , had normal braking, but after a few hard stops the ABS failed to function, ABS light and brake light on. Came to the conclusion I needed to replace the ABS module. Big bucks.
Had a few close calls with stopping.
Decided it was not worth messing with the 20 yr old truck.

Found a 2010 Ford F250 V10 with 92k miles. Got it for a good price and they took the Dodge in trade for a good trade in. Did this before the run on the market for trucks.

I want to thank all the posters on this forum who helped with other issues. It was a pleasure to be here. I learn more by just reading vs posting.

Now I have box load of V-10 spare parts. I guess the best place to try and sell them is the market place.
Thanks
RogerR

I would have been tempted just to disable the ABS system, and call it a day....

I don't get it - you traded a 20 year old truck with 93k with known issues for a 10 year old truck with the same mileage, much less power, and with issues unknown? Guess you have a lot of time on your hands. And the ferd v10 is NOTHING like the Dodge 8.0. But it's your money. Happy driving!

Yeah, the Ford V-10s were known for launching spark plugs. That's an interesting occurrence when you are driving someone elses truck.... (and pulling a 16" wood chipper.....)

Well as I said , it is 20 yrs old , parts hard to find, not many shops around here that will work on it, the poor bad braking was a MAJOR concern, I like and prefer to stop when I want or need to. was bad enough with stopping without the horse trailer too many hard braking issues. I thought it was not safe.

The ABS was erratic, most of the time it did not work which affected the stopping power. Just disconnecting it did not help. Dumping 3-400 into it did not appeal to me - with no assurance it would function as needed.

Plus the universals and center carrier bearing was solid rust. no shop around here would take it on..other then dealer. BIG $$. The local shops all said the bolts would break off thus costing BIG $$ and parts as in drive shafts.

The deal on the Ford was a good one for me, Had some issues but all corrected. It stops great a plus for me.

As for the Ford V-10 this is my 2nd one. No problems with the 05 F250 for 38k, then sold due to lack of use and get out of debt. And I changed the plugs in that one.
The 2010 Has solid plugs less problems. But I will let Ford dealer change them.

It pulls great and I really like all the new features it has. and only 10 yrs old..

Really was no need to trash talk me on this
