Labor day weekend i pulled the trans on my 2000 to replace the front pump seal. The new seal i bought looked a little different from the old one but the internet seams to be sure its the right one. After putting the trans back in, i drove it about 50 miles and stopped 4 different times to check on things. Everything did great until i put it in park at my house, then GALLONS of fluid came out of the bell housing. I have it out again as of right now. Is the new seal alreqdy blown that fast? And why?
Absolutely. Also, check to ensure that the rounded spring is in the back of the seal - the spring encircles the lip of the seal from behind. I've seen them pop out when installed, which would certainly cause the issue you're experiencing.

That is not the correct seal. Get a seal from the dealer. Before installing the seal on the front pump. Use either transmission gel or door ease aka fan belt grease stick. And lube the back of the seal when the spring is at.

Just about the only Mopar seals i could find came in kits with pump gaskets and a bushing, so i decided to pull the pump and look at the bushing. Get a load of this.
