Default I can't figure out my cruise control.

I recently bought a 01 2500 with a v10 and I can't tell if me cruise control works or not. The light turns on when I hit the on/off button but it doesn't seem to set my speed. What am I missing?

Even if you push the 'set' button?

Cruise is purely controlled by the PCM. There is a servo up underneath the battery tray, that is powered by engine vacuum. If it doesn't have vacuum, it just doesn't work. Being as it's under the battery...... the line, and servo itself are sometimes destroyed by battery gases. (or, it the battery boils, you can figger cruise is all done. )

Check the vacuum line first. That's the most common failure.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm just not doing it right if need to hold the set button for a certain amount of time of if I just tap it and sets it then, but I will take a look at my vacuum line and see what I find.

On mine, I have to hold the On/Off button, to get it to turn on, but, I just need to basically bump the set button to clue it in. It will lose a bit of speed from set point, but, bump the resume/accell button a couple times takes care of it.
