Angry Cutting out while driving

I have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 318 auto and it will randomly cut out while im driving. The rpms will cut out while im driving and the truck will lose power for a second but it doesnt completely shut off. Its very fast this all happens within 1 second. Ill get on the gas itll cut out and then come back all within a second. It has done it once and completely died when i was rolling down a hill. Not sure what the problem is.

Failing sensor, or PCM........ Probably crank sensor.

Unfortunately, not until it fails completely...... or, at least for an extended period of time.... But, if the tach drops to zero, its at least reasonably likely its the crank sensor. Use ONLY genuine mopar sensors by the way. These trucks don't place with with the aftermarket fellers.

No, it MUST be a Mopar sensor, else you may be introducing more problems than you already have.

Rock Auto might have 'em, they can at least get you a Mopar part number, with that, you can do a google search on the part number, and come up with a number of sources, probably even from Amazon. Find one with the best price.

@HeyYou nailed it, see all those part numbers in parentheses beginning with 5 and sometimes ending with AB? Those are Mopar numbers, try searching them. You may first want to search "Mopar parts online" then plug in one or two of those numbers at whichever website blows your skirt up, taking notice of transmission type
