I've got a 98 ram 5.2L and I'm not sure if these problems go hand in hand or not.. but I don't think it accelerates as fast as it should, I feel like there should be a little more get up and go but it just doesn't have it.. is this common? The other problem is a very intense shaking when I'm driving and keeping the pedal at a steady position, but slowing down or accelerating faster stops the shaking.. anyone know the reasons for these?

Well, your post is a bit amorphous. (<---- a fancy word I used because I feel like being a snot today. ) The first thing to come to mind is worn or seizing universal joints in the drive shaft. However, a lot depends on how it shakes. Does the whole truck shake? Does it feel like it coming from the front? Rear? Are your tires wearing oddly? Does it go away or get worse when you step on the brakes?
It sounds like it's in your driveshaft, but there are a LOT of other things it could be. So let us all know more details so we can help you.
The shaking basically goes away while it's in overdrive but it's still there a bit, I guess if the shaking is coming from anywhere then it's the front of the vehicle
Yes the shaking will get worse if overdrive is turned off, but it still will go away by slowing down or going faster.. but when it does shake it's alot worse when overdrive is off

If you are sitting in neutral, is there any shake? How about if you race the engine?
