Question I am new here and my login is lumpinator

I am new here and my login name is Lumpinator. I have a 98 dodge ram quad cab 1500 with 5.9 L motor and RE 46 transmission. Just replaced transmission and have a few connections on the

transfer case that I’m not sure about. Any info would be great. Thanks.

They go to the vacuum switch on top of the t-case. Four lines, white is source vacuum from up top, green is a vent line, red and black go the actuator on the front axle. Looks like that vacuum harness has already been hacked to an extent, you can still get new ones though.

Welcome to DF! Moving this to second gen ram section for ya.

Yep, someone has tried to cobble that vac harness together because the big rubber plug fails with time. You can make out the part # here

Thanks. The one in red is coming straight out of transfer case and just shooting straight up into the air. I was told it was a vent but it looks like it should be plugged into something. The vacuum with four hoses on it is already connected all the way through. The one circled in yellow looks like it should have another vacuum plugged into it but the rubber is torn. Maybe that’s where the one circled in red goes. And thanks for moving me to the right place. I’m new on this. This is the second time I’ve pulled this transmission out. You would think I would’ve taken pictures like I usually do but I didn’t on this one. My mistake.

No, green is the vent, red should go to the front axle, along with the black.

Also...random thought as I/we can't tell exactly what's going on here from the pics:

the vent for the vac harness is not the same as the t-case breather

Grab the service manual for your truck from here. Should be a diagram of how the vacuum lines for the axle are routed/connected in there.

I finally found the answer I needed. It’s in this picture I’m going to include. The rubber splitter is just a vent splitter coming from the transfer case going to the firewall. I just bought a new plastic splitter and some vacuum hose and it works great.
