Keith, I was also thinking that since you pretty much don't have anything of a dash. You could look into a newer gen dash that seem to be cheaper and easy to find. Of course this would mean modifications. There are some You Tube videos on people doing this ti 2nd gen dodges.
Okay so I don't operate this page as well as I should. Below is a comment meant for those who are suffering from 2nd Gen dash disintegration.
I have been working on my dash as well. I purchased the two upper pieces offered by LMC Trucks.
As I was taking the dash apart the lower dash just crumbled. It is not as far gone as the one in this picture.
I just discovered 2nd Generation Dodge Reproduction Lower Dashboard - DRT Parts - Innovation, Performance, Quality - USA . (DRTPARTS.COM) This is a link to a company that is in the last stages of building replacement lower dashes. They look to be pricey. However, when compared to a new truck they are not that bad at all. When finished I will have spent about $2000.00 on the total dash parts.
Before anyone jumps my stuff. The truck has less than 75,000 original miles and when complete will look brand new. So, it makes me happy.
The dash as it sits in my back porch. The dash before removal. I will be reinstalling the old ugly dash until my new lower gets here.
What got this party started was the original radiator started hemorrhaging coolant. So, I decided to replace the heater core and attempt to restore the dash. The new dash will set me back about $1500. However, considering the other options. Purchasing a dash that is the same age for between $500 - $1000. I will pay the price and save the money. A replacement truck $60-70K vs $1500. Not a difficult choice.
Current view from the passenger's side.

I actually ended up paying for used dash core off eBay. It's installed so now it's time to save up and get the top from LMC. I'm just glad it's over with. Next will be headliner and new carpet. Moving moving forward slowly. Good Luck. They aren't cheap either way.
Sitting there in your sandals, while I am looking at 8 inches of snow outside my window????? Hhhhmmmm........ Is it banhammer time? (just kidding.)
I am surprised that someone is actually making new lower for the 2nd gen dash.... Granted, there IS a market.... My upper dash is cracked pretty good, but, it isn't annoying enough yet for me to spend the money to replace it.
As for the cost..... It's your truck, if it's worth it to YOU, nothing else matters. I just got the estimate for my van to be repaired. blown headgaskets, on a 197,000 mile motor.... 4500 bucks, for a van I paid 1600 for. That's not gonna happen....... Looking for a replacement vehicle for the wife now.....
2nd Generation Dodge lower dashboard from DRT Parts
Hi, so excited this dashboard is coming available (Chrysler should be drawn and quartered for this garbage and lack of support they produced.) I want to order one but the DRT Parts WWW site states they are not in production yet but are willing to take my credit card information. Has anyone actually received one of these? Is this company legitimate?
