Default MT2500 Snap On or DRB3

A mod in another thread mentioned the MT2500 as a good option for a OBD1 scanner. I have a 1995 Ram 2500 and am having an issue. I am at the crossroads of putting in a OB2 wiring harness and computer or locating a MT2500 that actually works (with the price of parts it would cost the same to get a 2500 as do the parts cannon). FleaBay has some buy at own risk AKA not working properly MT2500. IMO not worth the 200-300$ for something that might not work.
Is there anyone in the Kansas City Area that has a mt2500 or drb3? I have called around and nothing so far.

Check your local Craigslist for that area, along with Facebook Marketplace for the MT2500. They pop up in there quite frequently, at least in my general area. You will need the MT2500 scanner plus serial cable, the cartridge that covers your year vehicle and the connector that plugs into the OBD1 port for that truck/serial cable end off the scanner. DRB3 is pretty difficult to find cheap in my experience.

Good idea. I have leads on 4 of them now. Hopefully I can find a functioning unit.
Update: I found a complete unit with the correct cartridges on Marketplace. Thanks for the lead!!!!

Yeah, if you look in the appropriate places, the old MT2500s tend to be falling out of the trees these days. Not many pro mechanics are working on the old stuff anymore, so they tend to sell off the old diagnostic gear to make room for the stuff they truly use regularly. Good luck and hope you score a good working setup.

Hey
Just wanted to see what problems you where having with your 95?
I have a 95 1500 with the 360 and I have been doing the same thing for over a year. I have replaced every sensor and have put almost 11k in a truck that cost me 500 to get sooo ya I feel your pain.

But my problem is no power going up a hill pulling.

To close this thread. MT2500 works great. Going over to electrical nightmare thread. Double posting pic here and there. Diagnosis on other thread.
