Default What determines wot rpm shift points

I ask this question because when I recently bought a 1998 SS/T 2 months ago I had wot rpm shifts around 5k. I then did some service on it's trans. I changed oil. filter. adjusted bands, turned up pressure 2 1/2 turns ccw, turned down shift adjuster 1 turn cw, changed out the 2 solenoids in the valve body, changed out new accumulator spring, Installed sonnax manual valve 22771-09, installed sonnax lube regulator 2271A-02k and installed external trans cooler. After all this it shifter like a sports car and I was very happy but my wot rpm shifts went down. My wot rpm from 1st to 2nd is now 45k and the rest upshifts are 42k. I would would like to see them around 5k again. Any idea's.

Thank you in advance

Check adjustment on the TV cable. It has the most influence. For the rest that you did, no idea what the effects of them are.

Thank you for replying. I should have mentioned that the tv cable was checked and was fine. Again, thank you.

I just ordered a Superchip today and when I install it and program 93 octane tune with a tank of 98 I'm thinking it may bring it up.
What do you think?

Quite likely. I think shift points is one of the many thinks the tuners address.

You could try loosening the TV cable one notch, and see if that does anything useful.
