Default Freezeplugs

Hey guys. On road to new years eve dinner with the fam , i noticed my heat/temp got a bit over the middle.

I checked an noted that i leaked coolant between transmision and engine.

I'm hoping there aren't any freeze plugs located there? Cause that's going to be a pain in the *** to fix. I don't have any local shop near me to help me out. And i need to get back on the road ASAP!

Does anyone have a location of all the freeze plugs? I'm kind of becoming desperate at this moment.

The right bottom one near trans on the side has been renewed 3-4 weeks ago. And the otherside was over 2 years ago done
Anyone help?!

Yes, there are two freeze plugs located at the rear of the block. There are 3 freeze plugs on each side of the block as well. Those freeze plugs should be 1-5/8". You might also want to check to see if the coolant leak is coming from rear of the cylinder head and trickling down. The are freeze plugs at the front and rear of each cylinder head. Those are 1-1/4". I replace them with deep cup brass freeze plugs and never have to worry about them again in life, as long as I keep an anti-freeze mix in the motor.

Think there are two different sizes on the back of the block. (cleverly concealed by the trans....) I don't have a small block sitting on the engine stand any more, so can't just go out and look.

I have an LA 360 in the garage and I looked before I posted. The two freeze plugs in the rear of the block are both the same size - 1-5/8". There is a cam plug back there as well, that's a different size/style plug.

You will need to pull the transmission to access them if they are indeed leaking.

Ah. Ok.

My take it on it, if one, or more... are leaking, and ya gotta drop the trans, replace ALL of them......

Ok it's deffo coming from between the trans. It's leaking from behind the protection cover on the trans. So it's spitting it out towards the torque convertor

**** my life 😅 and a happy new year to me i guess.
I need it to be back on the road in 2 days. Luckily i got a set of plugs laying around. But don't have a oil pit accessible..

Is it possible to get out the tranny with just jacking up the dodge?

Just started thinking, and actually hoping that it's the hose to the interior radiator that's cracked somewhere and spraying back the engine/tranny, but i doubt it

Anyway, can we all pray that tomorrow, when i check where the leak comes from.. that it's from an tube instead of a plug 😂😂😂
