Looks like your pulley unbolts off the balancer. I'd suggest that you save your money on the underdrive pulleys. You could put that money towards things that really make the truck get up and go..

The old style dampers were 2-piece. The new design is just one-piece. Not sure when they transitioned but AFAIK you can't really buy the old 2-piece any longer.

Underdrive pulleys on a computer controlled engine aren't really a good idea. I have seen too many folks with charging issues at idle, and that REALLY annoys the PCM. Besides, you really don't get any noticeable performance increase from them.

With this new information, and the information about them not selling the OE 2 piece anymore, what’s my best route?

Thank you everyone for the help ! I’m still super new to the community.

Well with my upgrades so far, I’m not sure where to go next. Currently I’m just fixing everything that’s currently “wrong” lol. My TPS (I think) is going bad. My turn signals all messed up. My battery is super old. My alternator ground wire (I think) is corroded and is showing the copper or whatever’s under it. I really want this truck to shine again. I’m 19 with a lot of time on my hands and learning, I really enjoy all of it. Especially working with my dad ! One day the truck will be fully mine and I want it to be great!

Rockauto.com is a great site to find parts. Worst case, you can find the OEM part number there, and search on that (google is your friend) and find alternate sources/pricing.

That seems to be correct for the 5.9 motor, but the 5.2 motor seems to be the opposite when I looked at what's available on Rockauto.com.

Awesome! So I’ll just be buying one of those Dorman street balancers from rock auto and calling it a day. Thank you guys!

I DO NOT mean to talk down to you but I bet most of us here remember being 19. At that time I thought everything stock sucked and surely everything in the aftermarket was better.

If you stay with the mechanical side of things you come to see OEM is usually the best with a few exceptions of well thought-out parts that truly address durability or longevity issues, eg the "Heater Treater" that replaces a stupid plastic coupling with a metal coupling or the upgrade to a 3rd Gen track bar on 4wd models.

Basically, if it's in the "bling" aisle at Autozone, says "Spectre" anywhere on it or offers LED "upgrades" at affordable prices, run far away.

We're all gonna seem like grumpy old guys but I PROMISE YOU in 25 years you'll be right here saying the same things
