Fog Light Question
My 1999 Ram 1500 didn't comes with the factory fog light wiring so I did a after market deal way back in the day. Since they have long gone. I have been trying to find the the full kit for Dodge that would allow me to use a switch that came with the dash main replacement. I haven't any luck finding anything or real information. I don't know if that part would be a part of the main wiring harness or is there a section that I am missing? The main dash I bought cam with the head light switch with the pull option for fog lights. I am going to see if I can find behind the current switch if there is maybe a extra plug for this other switch? I wasn't looking when I installed the dash. I was just curious if this was some one has dealt with this for fog light? It would be nice to use the switch then that little switch they give you with the after market that you have to Velcro to the dash. lol

Dodge did make a fog light kit to add fog lights to a 2nd gen Dodge Ram truck several years ago. It came with an integrated headlight switch that controlled the fog lights, along with the relay, wiring harness, factory fog lights and the plastic cutout mounts that fit into the lower portion of the bumper. I purchased that kit several years ago, but I no longer have the box or part number of that particular kit, which is likely no longer available.

I did do check on the head light switch in the dash and there really isn't any difference other than the other switch has the pull out option for fog lights but connections are the same. Relay option is in the fuse box under the hood but nothing as far as wiring is showing a connection that could be used to plug into. This seems to me that I would have to splice into wiring to achieve this. What I installed before was after market so it didn't require anything wiring harness wise. Thankfully I am in no rush and would like to know more before I attempt to do this. Thanks for the help and suggestions.

I did find the factory fog light wiring under the bumper. I didn't find the fog light wiring on the inside of the cab, but I also had a devil of a time finding the plug for the trailer brake control in the cab, too. I'm hoping to locate that fog light wiring in the cab when I get up enough time and energy to replace the cracked up upper dash panel and make repairs to the heater box and seals. I installed the new fog lights in the bumper, but never wired them up to work.
