Default Overdrive Not Working

So basically my overdrive does not work, my truck does not shift into overdrive at highway speeds. The overdrive button is always off, and if I press it, the light is still on. Is this just a bad overdrive solenoid?

Overdrive off button just sends a signal to the PCM, PCM does the rest. Not sure what would happen if the PCM were constantly receiving that signal... might try disconnecting the switch, and see what happens. Theoretically, PCM will disable O/D if trans temp is too high, but, on the 95 and older trucks, trans temp sensor was an option.... Check and see if you have one. It will be a sensor on the trans line, at the front of the trans, just a couple inches away.

I do have a temp sensor, and I am getting a p0713 code and p0743 code, of which the p0713 could be because of my dirty ATF. Also, on a unrelated note, can a code p320 cause engine stalling?

P0713 Trans Temp Sensor Voltage Too High
P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid/Trans Relay Circuits

P0320 No Crank Reference Signal at PCM
can a code p320 cause engine stalling?
Yes! pcm needs that input to stay running. Get a genuine mopar(Mopar # 56027272) replacement not the junk the parts stores sell.

I checked the crankshaft position sensor via the manual, and there seems to be no issue with the crankshaft sensor. So why would it throw a P0320 code?

PCM gets engine speed from the crank sensor.

I'm having this same issue in my 98 ram 1500 rwd 46re 5.9 magnum, even after having it rebuilt by a transmission shop. My o/d button isn't working and there is correct voltage on the lever and good resistance in the button. When I'm driving, I have to throw it in neutral from drive or low second gear to drive in order to make'em shift and was i stop at every stop light my engine oil pressure drops and the check gases light comes on on top the trans temp light and o/d light always being on... I've chased down exposed wires and heat shrink wrapped them, didn't solve anything. Upgraded my grounds and electrical current flow, nothing. Jumped the transmission fluid temperature sensor wire from the pcm to transmission with a new wire, nothing!

If the PCM thinks the trans is hot enough to turn on the light, you aren't going to get O/D.

When was it rebuilt? Any warranty left? Wonder if they used the wrong electronics in the rebuild....
