Default So Ticking sound after cold startup

ok Guys here we are I have got the 2000 1500 5.2l. Issue is old motor went bad replaced with a used motor. I replaced all freeze plugs flushing out motor completely when changing the freeze plugs. I also purchased a rebuild kit for oil pump and put this into motor, new double roller timing chain and gears installed, complete new tune up, water pump, temp sensor, oil pressure sending unit, replace planum on intake with aluminum one. Now the gas is older gas had a full tank when motor went bad so gas is a couple months old. Here is the issue on cold start up there is a tick it appears to be coming from bottom of motor. The sound is similar to like gear turning which makes me think it could be coming from oil pump. the sound does seem to go away once truck is warm. I am just concerned due to right after I first got truck started it ran ok but when I drove it for a test run (10 miles) it died when I slowed down to turn around. It also dropped oil pressure so I went and purchased another sending unit. I also rechecked the distributor setting for cam sensor it was off so I adjusted that to put it in the right range to start with. Since resetting this I have not driven the truck more than a couple mile at a time but only after it has completely warmed up. I am concerned with the pump noise will Lucas help to quieten the pump or could the pump be bad it has good oil pressure like 50 lbs at cold start and around 35 at running temp. But I have not attempted to go further due to if the pump may be failing while under a load. It does seem to have a slight skip but no light so I am think that could be from the gas. Any suggestions?
Thanks again,

Lucas may quiet the noise, but, even if it does, it isn't dealing with the actual problem. It's just a band aid on a bullet wound. Tick might just be an exhaust leak....

A rebuild kit for the oil pump?? Think I would have just replaced the oil pump, they are fairly cheap.

I call it a rebuild kit it was everything except for the housing and strainer. Also I would agree but would the tick go away after its warmed you think

It's possible that as the exhaust manifolds heat up, and expand, they seal the leak.... maybe.

So I figured I'd give an update on my issues. So I took the pan back down and replaced oil pump with new one. I put new oil in and filter replaced the plugs again due to I got a number 2 and 8 misfire which was very strange. seeing how all was replaced before putting motor back into truck. The motor runs good yet it to me doesn't sound just right when I drive it the motor doesn't have that deep sound when driving if you understand what I mean. It almost sounds like there is some restriction or something and when I give it the gas it has a hesitation and if I punch it, it stumbles and pops I have to back out of the throttle and it will go just fine. I took it down the highway running it up to 70 plenty of power and if I give it the gas it has good pickup. I am wandering if maybe I should have tightened the plenum bolts a little tighter due to I went from steel to an aluminum plenum and it almost sounds like its sucking air when I take off its not skipping at all, no cat codes, any suggestions?

Find a shop that can set fuel sync for ya. See if that doesn't improve things.
