Yeah, that's likely just condensation from the truck sitting. If the oil looks good, I wouldn't worry about it.

Was waiting until payday Friday to order fu pressure kit and leak down kit, meanwhile today thought what can it hurt, verified w spark tester that all 8 are getting good spark. After moving tester each time and starting it the knock would get worse. Went ahead and installed the 3923's and fired back up and holy crap it sounds like it's going to have a cast iron fit. I didn't even want to let run enough to jump outa cab each time to check tester. Resolved myself to pretty much dropping pan tomorrow.

Looking like it, then brings up the great 318 to 360 swap question lol. Sucks that I just moved away from being near a close friend with highly regarded machine shop. Got a line on a 5.2 w 90k on it for $400 that came out of automatic truck and mines manual so not sure if anything will need to be tweaked in ecm.

So long as the crank is drilled for the pilot bushing, it's a direct swap.

The guy doesn't have the ecm from the donor truck w 360, won't I need to send mine off? I've always been told you need the balancer and computer front what the 360 came out of if going from 318.

If you wanna drop a 360 in there, you need the balancer, flexplate (or flywheel, if manual) and you can have your existing computer flashed for the larger engine.... Hopefully.... Likely going to be a dealership thing, or, talk to Hemifever, of Flyin' Ryan about a tuner for your combo. (that's around 600 bucks though, with the tune, and tuner.... but, the tuner will also read codes, and various other fun things.)
