Default AC design question

2001 Dodge Sport 1500, 5.9L
The previous owner removed the AC components from my truck. I would like to replace them. When I look on Rockauto, they list components for a 1st design and a 2nd design.

How do I determine which one I need?

They should also give a year range for what fits which..... Another option would be go to a Mopar parts site, look up part numbers, and then search on those.

They list both designs for my 2001, which is why I am confused. I'm thinking maybe they changed it mid year in preparation for the third gens, but cant seem to find any information on it.

They removed everything under the hood except for the condenser on the radiator. They cut the lines coming out of the firewall.

So pump, evaporator, and lines as far as I know. Rockauto has kits. I just don't know if it is first or Second design.

I am not finding much on a break point for that stuff. 5/30/00 seems popular. (manufacture date of your truck.)

Maybe dealer/parts can tell it by VIN?

Once you get the dealer part numbers for the parts you need based on your VIN, you can cross reference them to the aftermarket parts you need. You might also be able to look them up in the parts manual for your year truck, located here - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...s-manuals.html
