I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death. I searched but couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. My 02 2500 needs new headlights, including the bulbs (9004s). There's a 'ship' ton of headlights out there, Ebay, Amazon...etc. What headlights have others installed that they've been happy with. I see a lot have water leaks, poor fitment, not good quality. I just want an OEM style or maybe blacked out housing, but still stock style replacements. So this is not a sport but 2500 with single bulb headlight. Any help with this greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If you can, go with sport headlights. You get 2 headlight bulbs per side and a lot more light output than the non-sport single bulb headlights. The sport headlights fit in the same space as the non-sport headlights. You can find them at rockauto.com and several other outlets. The only other item you will need is a relay harness to take the higher electrical load off of the known weak headlight switch. You can find the sport headlight relay harness at LMCtruck.com or here - https://ceautoelectricsupply.com/hea...ion-relay-kit/ - Just FYI, there are also threads out there to make-up your own relay headlight harness, if you feel handy and so inclined.
I converted my subpar single bulb headlights to the sport style headlights and would never go back to the single bulb setup again.
I got two sets of headlights from AM-Autoparts.com. Stock style, said they don't come with bulbs, but they do..... Fit like stock, bolt right in, are ADJUSTABLE like stock...... First set still looked brand new when I sold the truck. Second set still looks brand new, and I still have the truck.
Not sure if they’re interchangeable but Dorman sells a set on Amazon for $65 that I just installed on my 1998 1500. Easy install, came with bulbs, and can be adjusted. Zero complaints so far

So in installing replacement headlights is it advantageous to remove black bumper guard for ease of access for R&R? I've seen a lot of videos were installer eventually just knuckles the light in place, some even using a screwdriver for leverage with fender squeezing the light inplace. Also would it be beneficial for light adjustment as well?.

I’ve seen multiple approaches from sagging the bumper to nothing at all. On mine, I didn’t remove anything and slowly worked them into place. I did manipulate the bumper trim by pulling it out and away but didn’t have to remove it. I can’t speak for others, but, I for one really appreciate being able to adjust my headlights
