Question New head unit and front speakers = zero sound

Evening. Dodge has stumped me a little bit.
Took out the factory infinity headunit in my 01, fixed the POs garbage splices and wired in an adapter harness. Head unit powers up.

Took out the front door speakers and replaced with new 6x9s. The factory speakers had a molex plug, which had 6-8 wires running to a door speaker mounted amp and a red and black wires that were wired in series to the speaker terminals and the amp. I took the 6-8 wires, snipped and sealed the amp off and then used the red and black leads previously connected to the factory speaker terminals to connect the new speaker.

Well, now I've got no sound at all.

Where did I go wrong?

Wondering if it’s the exterior door scraper seal or if there’s a way to vapor barrier the backside of the speaker pocket in the door

There should be drain holes in the bottom of the door. Check to see that they aren't plugged with debris. I believe the water drains out around the rocker panel..

the issue is the rain water on the way to the bottom of the door where the weep holes are located. It’s dropping onto the speaker and migrating to the cabin.

Started the other thread since you guys solved the speaker wiring issue and this is something entirely different. There’s a chance this is related to the new speakers because the factory speakers have a plastic shroud protecting the amp which may act as a rain deflector but that’s operating under the assumption that the window gasket is always leaking and what I’m seeing is normal.
