Default Transmission spit oil but no leak

This recently happened to me. I drive a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 magnum. While driving up and down a lot of steep hills I had pulled over to check something. When I got out I seen a noticeable about of atf fluid leaking from my bell housing onto my exhaust. In a nearby town I parked my truck for a couple hours and when I came back there was a small puddle of oil on the ground. I checked my fluid levels and all was fine. Up these hills I was driving 55mph at 3200rpm and engine temperatures only reached around 205. I even ran my heater uphill because I recently replaced a lot of parts including this transmission. But it has been a few days now and I don't see a single drip under my truck, no codes, and everything runs perfectly fine. Oil levels still remain the same.

Welcome to the forums.

Weep hole behind torque converter. Did the vent tube get installed? Pan bolts torqued properly? The oil dipstick tube not installed properly, O-ring missing?

I'm not entire sure about the weep hole. This transmission was supposed to be a bolt on and go installation with it pre oiled as well. I do remember the transmission pan gasket leaking right off the bat but crawling under there and with a ratchet tightened up the bolts and it stopped leaking. all new sensors and everything on the transmission. no check engine codes, still no oil dripping down currently, and shifts/drives perfectly fine. I'm just guessing it got hot and burped some fluid?

Especially if it was fully pre-filled with transmission fluid. I've never heard of that before..

Probably over-filled. Wouldn't hurt to check the fluid though.

Weep hole behind torque converter.
It's not a weep hole but there is the vent, It's at the top of the pump body.

Weep hole/Vent. A lot of mud boggers and racers plug this hole up and put the vent further back on the case.

Which strikes me as a REALLY good idea...... being able to put a hose on it, and route it up as high as you can, to avoid having the trans suck water/mud/othernastystuff is a VERY good plan.
