Default 2001 1500 5.9 trans acting weird

I picked up a 2001 1500 last week and got it up and running and the transmission feels like it's slipping in first up to around 20ish miles an hour and then it drives okay but it feels a little sluggish still. Nothing seems off about the shifting and I'm able to go on the freeway. I ran the code test and it came back that it has a bad governor pressure sensor but after doing the research the symptoms don't match up, I've checked the fluid it looks good and clean. I ordered the governor pressure sensor cuz I decided I might as well replace it if it says it's gone wrong. If you guys have any advice would be very appreciated 👍

If you are going into the pan anyway, do the sensor AND the solenoid. (borg warner heavy duty solenoid please) Filter and fluid, and a band adjustment. Grab yourself a service manual for your truck from here. Always good to have. Clear the codes, see if anything interesting comes back.

The pressure sensor includes the temp sensor. Sounds like your sensor is the wrong one for the truck. They changed in 2000....

k so I should be good just doing the sensor and the solenoid to get those codes to go away, as well as doing the band adjustment. Correct?

I should think so. If the pressure sensor is telling wrong info to the PCM, things tend to get weird.
