Default Tire Pressure question

I havea 1996 Ram 2500 3/4 ton 4x4 it has 655/70R18's instead of the stock 265/70R16's the tire pressure says 65psi front and 80 psi rear,
If i use it as a daily driver instead of a work truck do I really m=need 65 and 80?
if I dont what pressure do I need?

Probably meant 265. I go by what the tire manufacture says.

Nope, lower as desired.

I'd probably do 60ish front and 50 rear if empty. YMMV

I have 285/70/16's, on my 2500. It isn't loaded most of the time, so I run right around 50 PSI front and rear. Pretty even tire wear, not too harsh of a ride... for a 3/4 ton truck.....

265 is what I'm buying because the 275's rub on the lower

I'm running the same. 50 PSI with Michelin 285/75/16 Load Range E tires normally, since I don't tend to ride with full capacity loads. Last set of Michelin tires had perfect tread wear after 11 years, but had to get a new set of tires last year since the sidewalls had noticeable dry rot. Tread on the old tires still looked like new.

The truck rides great. If I ran the recommended tire pressure without a major load, I suspect I'd be bouncing out of the truck.

2001 2wd 2500 LB Reg cab 5.9 v8, 50psi 50psi . 245/75 r16 Load range e. They do ride hard as Hey You stated.
Some who dd their trucks and almost never load them go to a different range LT or xl tire for a softer ride, and perhaps reduced load rating.
Fewer plies will let the tread flex more easily.

I stopped in Jackson on my way to Roanoke Rapids, and dropped the tires to 55psi, I didnt want to go to 50 for fear of falling lower and I'm a perfectionist about stuff like that almnost ocd. I went to Firestone and was kinda nervous until i saw a man I trust that used to work at Central Ford in Ahoskie before it was sold to Fryer, I paid for a lifetime alignmant and the guy ( joe) told me everything was tight BUT I had a little play in the gearbox, which makes total sense considering when I bought it it had a farm use tag on teh back and teh ONLY maintenance that was ever done to it was the oil was changed once a year
I'm gonna adjust eth gearbox here in a few after a 6th cup of coffee so I'm totally awake, And since I'm near a compressor, I'm gonna drop the tires to 50 all 4
tomorrow the man in Capron Va that works with us at DOT equipment shop is ordering Falcon Wildpeak LT265/70R18, for me, he's cheaper than tire rack or anybody else online or locally, I will be keeping either the Michilian I paid $70 for or one of the cooper discoverer's so when I get a 18" rim for a spare I'll have a tire already
