Dodge Ram Laramie Won't go on high gear

Default Dodge Ram Laramie Won't go on high gear

This is for my dad's truck,he has a1998 Dodge Ram Laramie 1500 and it won't go on high gear or reverse.any ideas what could cause this?

Check engine lite on? Trans Temp lite? Done any work to it trying to fix it?

Trans Temp engine light went on then turned off.and he recently changed filter and selinoid.but still no luck.

Was it doing this before you changed the pressure sensor?

Ooops. Thinking of the wrong thread.

Did he change the pressure solenoid trying to fix it?

Unplug the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of the trans, about halfway back. Start up the truck, see if it now has reverse. if it does, its an electronics problem. If it doesn't, its rebuild time.

We tried reverse it started to go then stopped.
